So over the past few days a massive storm
rolled across Afghanistan, bringing thunderstorms, lightning, icing, low ceilings and visibility, and 3 days
straight of rain. Around here, that causes some interesting drainage problems.
The parts of base that are paved are done so extremely unevenly, and the rest
is a combination of dirt, gravel, and golf ball sized rocks that cover the
ground. So, the following photos are an example of what happens.... Welcome to
Lake Bagram, I hope you brought your swimsuit!
However, when the sky actually clears, we do get some pretty
beautiful sunrises...
